Ivy Rotating Piercing Nozzle
I.R.P.N. – Ivy Rotating Piercing Nozzle
The Ivy Rotating Piercing Nozzle (I.R.P.N.) is a specialized firefighting system designed to penetrate or breach barriers and deliver an immense multidirectional fog pattern into concealed or inaccessible fire areas.
Built from heavy-duty stainless steel and equipped with patented rotating sleeve technology, the I.R.P.N. allows firefighters to introduce water beyond a barrier while remaining on the protected side whenever conditions allow.
The standard and most common configuration combines the Piercing Tip with the Beige Kevlar Rotating Sleeve, providing the best all-around balance of penetration, durability, fog distribution, and general fireground use.
Patented Rotating Fog Technology
At the center of the I.R.P.N. is its rotating sleeve system. Water passing through the sleeve drives its rotation and is discharged through strategically positioned openings, creating a broad, rapidly expanding fog pattern.
This finely divided water helps absorb heat, cool the fire environment, and distribute suppression water throughout enclosed or concealed spaces.
The I.R.P.N. was developed around firefighter protection, efficient water application, and the ability to attack difficult fires without first creating a large opening or immediately committing personnel into the involved area.
Tip Options
Piercing Tip – Standard
Case-hardened stainless steel tip designed for structural penetration and general-purpose use. This is the most common I.R.P.N. tip.
Pencil Tip – Precision Penetration
Long, tapered profile designed for aluminum, sheet metal, equipment housings, and other penetrable materials where a smaller access opening is preferred.
Bull Nose Tip – Breaching Ram
Reinforced rounded tip designed for breaching doors, windows, panels, glazing, and other barriers requiring impact or forcible entry.
Sleeve Options
Beige Kevlar – Standard
The most common and versatile sleeve option. Designed for balanced fog reach, coverage, durability, and general structural firefighting.
Grey Kevlar – Alternate Configuration
Provides an alternate discharge configuration for specialized department or application-specific requirements.
XL Radius – Maximum Coverage
Designed for broader radial water distribution where increased interior coverage is preferred.

Built Around Firefighter Safety
The I.R.P.N. combines penetration, water delivery, heat absorption, and broad fog distribution into one purpose-built firefighting system.
Its interchangeable tip and sleeve options allow departments to configure the nozzle for structural penetration, precision access, forcible entry, or broader interior coverage while maintaining the same patented rotating fog technology.
“It is strictly for the safety of the firefighters—everybody goes home.”
— Eugene Ivy, Inventor
Pierce the barrier. Put water beyond it. Surround the fire with fog.
